Boy and Bear

An Australian all male band formed in 2009, they are classed as indie, folk, but I'd say they are more

indie rock, to compare them loosely I would say they are similar to Mumford and sons.

They have released 2 albums; First of which is:

  Moonfire
(2011)

Boy & Bear - Feeding Line

It is a really strong album, with a variety of emotion provoking songs; most of which I cant help but find my self bobbing along to.

Second is:

 Harlequin Dream
(2013)

Just as strong if not stronger than their first album, Boy and Bear in my eyes are a steady favourite within my playlists, I cannot get enough of their sound, and cannot wait for
Anymore releases that they may do (If the rumors about them splitting up are not true, fingers crossed.) They are currently touring the UK with it, and have sold out Glasgow, Bristol and Manchester (as I unfortunately found out when I tried to get tickets :( ... )

Boy & Bear - Southern Sun.

Check them out on YouTube, and for those lucky ones who got tickets, I hope it’s as majestic as I Imagine!

Lots of love as always

Paper Kites.

A maker of my own time

The day I fell upon Paper Kites was one of the best days of my life! (Shows how exciting of a life I lead).
Paper kites music is not only inspirational, it's thought provoking. I have spent many hours throughout summer putting the world to rights whilst listening to them, or spending the winter experiencing nostalgia for those times. The first song I listened to by them was "Featherstone" which I fell head over heels in love with. Each music video Paper kites use are so unusual and individual. They compliment the song perfectly and help to create an ambiance.

A little about the band.

2010 was a good year for music, not only were Daughter brought together, Paper Kites brought out their first single "Bloom".

In 2011 the Australia based band brought out their first EP "Woodland" which quickly
followed by them being signed by Wonderlick Entertainment.

In 2012 they released their second EP "Young North"

Members

Sam Bentley: Vocal, Guitar, Harmonica, Keyboards

Christina Lacy: Vocal, Guitar, Keyboards, Mandolin

David Powys: Vocal, Guitar, Banjo, Lap steel

Josh Bentley: Drums, Percussion

Sam Rasmussen: Bass, Synth

If you are a fan of Bon Iver, Bombay Bicycle Club and other bands that are similar, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy this band. There is so much emotion involved in each song that it’s hard not to make a connection with their songs.

Enjoy!

Lots of love,

Daughter.

Daughter.

Four years ago in the summer, I stumbled upon the song "youth" by Daughter (the video above), and since that day it has always been one of the sound track to my life. For some unknown reason I never went and checked out any more of their work until I saw that they were playing at the Cardiff Union near where I am living in university; What a treat it was listening to there new and old songs. I am very much into indie chill out music and this fits in so well into my iTunes. They seem to have a song that compliments every emotion, and can help create an ambiance.

Daughter - In the shallows

A little about the band
Formed in 2010, the london based trio have 3 EPs and released there album If you Leave  on March 18th 2013. Daughter were signed to 4AD in 2012!

Elena Tonra - Vocals, Guitar

Igor Haefeli - Guitar

Remi Aguilella - Drums

I recommend a listen, if you enjoy similar to bands such as The XX and War Paint, or any different kind of indie music. There music has inspired me in so many different ways, and are a continuous part of my life, and....

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do,

Lots of love,
